What's Happening this Summer
Summertime in New Orleans, as most people know, is typically hot and humid! Despite the high temperatures in the Big Easy this year, here are a few things going on in the city this summer.
Running of the Bulls- July 12-15, 2012
San Fermin in Nueva Orleans is an annual festival in the New Orleans French Quarter. This run replicated the world famous Encierro of Pamplona, Spain, or as we know it, “The Running of the Bulls”. Check out more info @ http://nolabulls.com/.
Satchmo Festival- August 4-5, 2012
This annual Festival is held at the old U.S. Mint, situated on the edge of the French Quarter between the French Market and Esplanade Avenue. This popular fest is completely free and open to the public. Come check out the live New Orleans musicians and some of the best food synonymous with the Big Easy! French Quarter Hotel Group has 3 hotels that are just steps away from the fest!
Red Dress Run- August 11, 2012
New Orleans Hash House Harriers, the “Drinking Club with a Running Problem” sponsors this annual Red Dress Run, which takes place all throughout the French Quarter and downtown New Orleans. This event is open to men and women and originated as a charitable event to raise money for breast cancer research. The Red Dress Run is typically between 3-4 miles and includes live music, local barbecue, and LOTS of beer!
